We have rented 6 different houses in Marathon over the past years always looking for something ‘better’ -well this year we finally found that something better in Kon Tiki. This house had everything to accomodate 5 individuals comfortably -the listing does not mention the house has a gianormous brand new washer/dryer, and the second living room can be used easily as a fourth bedroom. The hot tub was clean (serviced weekly) and was a great place to relax in the evenings -a slight dilema was choosing who would have to get out to make the next round of drinks in the blender (brand new blender too!)There is a biking sidewalk that goes from the side road of the house all the way to the 7 mile bridge and we used the kayak many times to go out exploring the gulf. We were able to make a full Thanksgiving dinner with no problems – the kitchen had every pot & pan and even all the spices – all the little items like paper towels, dish saop and garbage bags were already there too. All the beds were comfortable and every bedroom had very large closets that fit our suitcases, diving gear, and clothes. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, and one could park 4-5 cars in the extra large driveway. The tiki hut in the back has ceiling fans and a patio set that was comfortable. The owner was around and provided us with his own fishing poles -there are mostly pin fish in the canal but we did catch a few snapper and grunt fish. What a great time we had -everytime we were not out and about, the house provided extra activities and entertainment. We hope to back very soon! Thanks to Jim and Brad for great memories!

My Mother-in law rented this house for the week after Christmas for her and her children’s families. In all there were 8 of us, 2 teenagers, 1 toddler and the rest adults. This house was perfect for that. The kids slept in the second living room. There was one pull down bed attached to the wall and a day bed with a trundle. Perfect amount of space for the kids. Each group of adults got their own bedroom. The kitchen is beautiful. Looks like it was just updated. Plenty of space to store groceries. Additionally, there is all the pots and pans you could every need, a coffee maker, blender and expresso maker. Outside there is a grill.The tiki hut out side provides shade and a nice area to eat outside. The hottub was very nice. Lots of fish and wild life to see in the canal. We saw baracuda, garr, small bait fish, and even a manatee.Only about 6 or 7 house away from the opening to the Gulf so it is easily seen from the porch/dock. Marathon proved to be the perfect location in the Keys and this house was centrally located. If we come back we will definately be checking on this house. Thanks
